Every year Stella Cameron sponsors a writing contest called the Scarlet Boa.  Writers (and aspiring writers) submit an entry based on a chosen theme with no more than 500 words. This year’s theme was “a confrontation between hero and enemy.” 

Yes, I entered.    The entries are listed so that everyone can read them.  Voting for your favorite entry will begin October 15th.

Avon Romance is sponsoring the neatest thing.  They are going to compile a novella written by romance fans!  Of course, many of the romance fans are writers and aspiring writers. 

So far, they’ve had everyone sign up and vote on the genre.  Regency won by a slim margin.   Love that historical romance!
