An early Christmas present

There was an early Christmas present in my inbox on Wednesday. Freya’s Bower has chosen my short story, The Dream, for their upcoming faerie anthology, In the Gloaming. Yay! I’m tickled pink, to say the least.
I really wasn’t expecting to hear anything on that until after the first of the year. I signed and mailed the contract. I suppose it’s not absolutely official until I get the signed copy back, but that shouldn’t be too long. I’m looking forward to working with Freya’s Bower. I hear really good things about them. If you’ve never heard of them, you should stop by their web site. One of my MySpace friends has a book there called Conspiracy of Angels. I haven’t had the chance to read it yet, but the reviews have been great and the cover is just gorgeous.
I’m told the cover for the anthology has been chosen, but will not be revealed until edits are under way. I just hope it’s half as pretty as Zinnia’s cover.

Anyway, my short story is about an American woman on vacation in Scotland. She gets lost in an enchanted forest and falls asleep. In her dream, she meets up with a troll and ends up in faerie land with her dream lover. It’s all just a dream. Or is it?
That one was really fun to write and I can’t wait to see what other stories will be included in the anthology. I’ll post again when I have more info, most likely mid January or so.
I’m on vacation for the next 12 days! WooHoo! I’m hoping my next post will be about how much I’ve accomplished on the western. It’s so close to being finished. I’m just itching to get it done.
