Okay, that was a lie. I’m not tossing confetti. I would if I could. But, alas, I cannot. The problem, you ask? I’m a dog.
 
No, not dog, as in, “He cheated on me. He’s such a dog.” (And I must say, as a member of the canine persuasion, I am adamantly opposed to such a derogatory use of the term.) But, a real dog. The kind with four legs and a tail. Even though my tail is rather stubby. It’s okay, though. I’m a Jack Russell Terrier and we’re supposed to look that way.
 
So, no confetti tossing going on here. The paws don’t quite work that way. But I would toss confetti if I could because, like all of you, I’m a true lover of romance. Ahhhh. Amore.
 
You see, I recently went where no dog has gone before…into the realm of matchmaking. And I was quite good at it, if I do say so myself.  Something had to be done. My human, Chet Wallace, had made a mess of his love life on his own. Even when he finally found his perfect match – Simone Littleton, with her thick blonde hair and eyes like liquid fire. (I’m just repeating what Chet said about her. Personally, I think the best thing about Simone is her homemade peach pie. Paws down, the best I’ve ever tasted.) So, Chet acted like one of those feisty race horses he likes to train and sent Simone running for the hills. It was up to me to fix things. Honestly, if you want something done right you just have to do it yourself.
 
It wasn’t that hard. Those two couldn’t keep their eyes off each other. All it took from me was a little begging (what dog is above that, I ask you?), a fake doggy depression and dragging Simone around a few times by the hem of her jeans.
 
And presto, just like that, they ended up… wait. I can’t tell you everything. A dog is man’s best friend. I’m loyal above all else. And this story is rather personal, if you get my drift.
